Requirements
Handlers in charge of substances from the following classes :
2.1.2A 3.1 4.1.3 4.2 4.3 5.1.1 5.2 6 8 9
need an Approved Handler certificate which Neil is able to provide following appropriate training.
Limited to:
handlers in control of substances present in the Surface Coatings & Associated Industries.
excludes handlers of vertebrate toxic agents, pesticides, fumigants & veterinary medicines.
Approved Handlers need to know:
hazard classifications of substances under their control
the adverse affects of each of those substances
the controls imposed on those substances
test certificate endorsements
precautions necessary to prevent damage to persons and/or environment
emergency procedures associated with those substances
a working knowledge of the equipment & PPE required for those substances
Approved by NZITO to assess against Unit Standard 20645 "Describe the requirements of the HSNO Act 1996 relevant to Approved Handlers."
