Collies
Welcome
Neil and
Kathryn live in the Kaimai Hills just outside of Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty,
New Zealand. We live on just over an acre which is great for our collies to
run free in, when they are not sharing our house or a bed or two! We have two
children, Rochelle and Kieran, and along with our rough collies we have what is fondly known as our nude collie - a
smooth collie.
Our
first collie came to live with us in 1992 just before our first wedding
anniversary. Neil had always liked the rough collie, while I had grown up with
dogs of the Heinz 57 variety. It was not until the year 2001 that we bred our
first litter. Along the way we have had people come into our lives who have
helped our understanding of the breed and who have been instrumental in the
collies we have today. Marie Heath of Clekarn
Collies spent many hours talking to us via the internet and in 2002 when we
visited NSW, Australia, Marie introduced us to Gaye Jones of
Cathkin Collies where we were to
meet and eventually bring home NZ Ch Cathkin Lastinimpression (Imp Aus) with
help from Dilys Stephens of
Glenrere Collies. Dilys is also responsible for a smooth coming to live with us.
In 2007 Cherry Simmons let us introduce
Ch Avonia Hot Kaimai Skye to our kennels, a new step on our journey. 2010 sees
yet another step on our journey with the arrival of Britannia Puss 'N Boots to
our kennels.
As always with life, things are constantly changing and we hope you will
